About

Matthew CoenProducer, Songwriter, Singer, and Bassist with a Distinctive Sound, Free Spirit, and Commitment to the Craft.

Matt’s journey began with a simple love of music and singing. At age 12 his parents bought Matt a bass guitar that his cousin was selling to help pay college tuition.

By age 14 Matt was playing paying gigs and had begun writing songs. A few years later Matt put himself through college with the combination of academic and music scholarships, and playing gigs as much as 6 nights a week.

While still in high school, Matt began recording original music for himself and friends on a 4 track tape machine, often using one track to record a midi time sync so the audio could be synced with a computer based sequencer.

Matt would go on to record multiple albums for himself and friends with this modest setup, as well as 45 demos that help his band Walk the Dogma get very close to a major record label deal.

After a successful career outside of music, Matt completed a Master of Music degree in Music Production from Berklee College of Music in 2025. He established his studio just outside Nashville, Tennessee where he is currently recording his latest album and collaborating with other artists.

At Matt Coen Music, great production is more than just great sounding songs, it’s about creating music that truly moves you. Songs should resonate with listeners on a deep level, making them laugh, cry, or dance along. By combining passion with a high-quality hybrid studio, I help artists transform their ideas into unforgettable, emotionally charged art.
